Emilie has worked in the mental health field as a professional counselor for over 29 years. She studied at Lewis and Clark College in Portland Oregon and has worked with a wide range of clients in a number of settings including Community Mental Health agencies, a State Hospital, a large Medical Center, Private Practice and now with Tristesse Grief Center.
She is a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and has been trained in a wide range of modalities. She holds a basic certificate in Rational Emotive Therapy but prefers a more Beckian approach. She is also trained in Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and the Process of Change, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Object Relations. She is familiar with a wide range of other approaches and uses techniques from many of these resources in her work with clients.
